USA Fencing decided they would like to take over the all of the registration, and money, for fencing events - so they made their new, untested, system MANDATORY for many events and will likely make it fully mandatory for all events at some point in the future. They also raised the price for participation in the events by about 35%, or $20 each. I've heard that the initial roll out was about as successful as the Obamacare Website, which is to say expensive and broken and incapable of handling real customer volumes.
The results of this dictatorial behavior is that other free enterprise businesses are being drastically effected: askFRED.net, 14meters.com, Fencing.net, and most importantly the fencers and the tournament organizers and referees.
Are you willing to tolerate this behavior from your governing body?
Yes, then what else will they decide they can make you do and you will allow?
No, then what are you willing to do to make it stop?
